Elevate SLO feeds the Children

Kurt Phagel a minister with a Elevate Slo Christian Church has put together 10,000 meals along with 230 other people in San Luis Obispo California to provide food for the children in San Luis Obispo County school system. He says that it is 2 out of 4 children in the San Luis Obispo County school system that needs to have supplementary food to eat because there is not enough food at home.

I spoke with Kurt about the food project in the schools. He said that a lot of people are not aware of the epidemic we are having because the children and the families are ashamed of their situation of being poor. They keep the food shortage for families a secret in our schools by providing the children with back packs full of food that they send home with the children so the other children are not aware of who is getting food.
Kurt is doing good work. Our country needs to get our children “RIGHT SIDE UP!” so our future is stable for our children.
